If you wish to post, you do need to register. Results 1 to 10 of Hi all, I am about 5 weeks pregnant but am a little unsure on dates. The Dr I saw told me to come back in 4 weeks last week so at about 8 weeks and she would give me a referral to the antenatal clinic at my local public hospital Westmead.

She didn't fill me with confidence and didn't seem to be the slightest bit interested probably wasn't nor offer any advice. Will it take a few days or weeks even?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Im high risk and have "a very poor obstetric history" as they say. Ive never booked one myself ive always had a doctor call up for me to ask for an urgent scan.

Sorry it doesnt really help, depending on your first appointment at ur hospital could u do it that way? Or is it too much of a wait? It took me no time to get booked in.

12 WEEKS PREGNANT - DATING SCAN & SCREENING

It was mainly trying to find a time that would fit mine and my husband's schedule rather than the hospital. Now, booking into the Antenatal clinic and booking in to give birth is another story.

I was told right before my 12 week scan to book into the hospital and got a letter saying I had to fill out paperwork but they couldn't promise me a spot yet. They also said it generally takes 9 weeks to get an appointment with the midwife, though I know I can see my GP until I am 24 weeks don't know if that is individually based or a standard.

I was very sure of my dates. I went to the GP early on at about 5 weeks to get my referral letter for the hospital and make my booking in appointment straight away too. Early scans are not only for dating, but are for viability too.. My first pregnancy I had a US at 6wk ONLY because of suspected ectopic, all was fine then successful with my DD , 2nd pregnancy had a scan every week from wk until i miscarried, 3rd pregnancy I was refused a US, then went to the wk 12 scan expecting to see my baby and miscarried on the table..

Your antenatal care

I am now going through my 5th pregnancy, and I should be 9wks today, but have had 2 US so far and its not looking good, 1st told me I was 5w5d supposed to be 7w3d second said 6w1d supposed to be 8w4d I have another on Wed this week.. So, I guess what I'm saying, is that, if your pregnancies are usually fine with no problems, then its not really necessary to have the early US, I have been advised always to have an early scan due to my history of mc, and as I said, these are not for dating, they are for viability to find a HB OH AND u can ask them to write on the referral to "please bulk bill" then u don't have to pay either..

I had my first dating scan today. Prior to going, my dr and i were pretty sure by my dates that i was 8 weeks 6 days, however they gave me the option of going as i have PCOS and couldn't be sure. After having the dating scan ultrasound and transvaginal scan - they said it looks like i'm only 5weeks 4 days.

I'm a bit confused with how the timing works, because by my notes of ovulation etc.. But they seem confident by the measurements They've booked me to go back in two weeks for another dating scan. Posted Tuesday 01 May This test is not quite as accurate as the combined test. Skip to main content.
