Bring women together to fellowship, develop, and grow in Christ and sisterhood. Provide space for women to collectively heal from challenges, celebrate successes, and enhance relationships.
Hope Battalion Men’s Ministry
A PAC/Family of young men and women ages 18 to 35 who come together with the sole purpose of Helping Other People Excel in life, their walk with Christ and in community.
Continue the ministry of Jesus Christ through service and witness in the world. Committed to support the mission of the church and empowered to help one another. Extend outreach to the world and serve with gladness.
Accurately apply tithes and offerings to individual donor records. Creatively raise scholarship funds to assist college students with expenses.
Enthusiastically support clergy and church leadership in ministry endeavors. Remain current on district and denominational opportunities for learning and service, engaging where feasible.
Serve as a catalyst of Christian growth, practical life skills, and renewing of the minds of believers. Provide easily applicable lessons that enriches and empowers the daily lives of participants.
Show the love of God through the gift of hospitality and pastoral care. Support ministries in providing a welcoming environment during services and events.

Create a loving, nurturing and trusting atmosphere where everyone has a chance to grow spiritually and personally by reading a diverse collection of literature, taking on leadership roles through hosting book club discussions, leading in prayer, reading scriptures and welcoming members and guest.

The Community of Hope African of Hope African Methodist Episcopal Church strives to create an environment of continuous learning for all its members. The mission of the Hope Institute is to service as an outgrowth of regular Sunday services to educate its members in various areas of Christian life. This institute will service as catalyst of Christian growth, practical life skills, and renewing of the minds of new and seasoned saints.

One Saturday per month
The Dance Ministry’s goal is to encourage praise and worship through using both your body & spirit. All levels are welcome. If dancing is your life, a hobby, or you just want to praise the Lord using the vessel provided this is the Ministry for you. Let’s Dance!!!

Every 3rd Thursday
Warmly welcome and seat congregants; assist congregants as needed; provide direction for congregants during offering; distribute programs, envelopes, visitor cards and promotional materials; collect visitor cards; services ministers and guests sitting on the pulpit; and manages special guests. Following morning service, reset sanctuary, remove debris from the sanctuary and pulpit and ensure bathrooms are in working order and supplies are restocked. Assist with clean up following the 12:00 service. When requested, assist with new member intake. Greeters serve at 10:00 am and 12 noon services, Bible study and other activities. Greeters must successfully complete training prior to serving in the sanctuary during worship service. Greeters will be scheduled to serve.

To provide an avenue to bring both believer and non-believers into the Community of Hope network to address the needs of their physical body. To provide the community with information, education and resources and aiming at increasing awareness of health related issues. To provide education aimed at preventing disease and alleviating illness. To assist individual in connecting with community resources that promote health and wellness. To assist individuals, with various health conditions/disease, with self-management strategies. To support individuals as they learn how to integrate faith in their health and healing. To work with other ministries in the COH family and support the overall body of Christ.

The Outreach Ministry serve as arms, hands and feet of Community of Hope AME to provide support, resources, education and empowerment to individuals throughout the District of Columbia and Prince Georges County. Under the leadership of the Senior Pastor, Rev. Tony Lee, the Outreach has taken an aggressive and effective approach in the fight against HIV/AIDS while demonstrating the Love of God in meeting the needs of underserved populations.
Various subcommittees under Outreach: HIV/AIDS Program, Domestic Violence Program, Homeless Program, Central Union Project, and Warm Coats for Winter.

1st Saturday
9:00-10:00 am
Fulfill prayer requests through intercessory prayer. Assist Pastor Lee with the coordination of the prayer partner network. Develop and manage process to ensure that Pastor Lee receives all online and hard copy prayer requests. Lead or facilitate prayer onsite at all worship locations and meeting facilities prior to the start of each activity. Confidentiality is critical.

3rd Saturday
10am – 11am
Educate, equip and mobilize the congregation and community to frame and address pressing local, regional, national and global issues. Use technology and grassroots methodology to create collaborative projects and activities through campaigns, petition drives, hotlines, rallies, vigils, letter writing campaigns, television, radio, print, legislative outreach, online advertisements, direct mail, editorials, research and documentation, asset mapping, polls, and other creative forms of outreach and advocacy. Social Action activities will give voice to the community, influence legislation and campaign platforms and provide quick action on pressing issues.

Maintain a safe worship environment using the following strategies: Inspections of church site before and during worship; developing management plans, exit strategies and evacuation routes for fire and medical emergencies and any threats that may arise during worship services, Bible studies and activities. The team will report and record all infractions that occur during church activities. The team ensures the pastor’s safety and secures the sanctuary during offering.
Ensure the safety of cars parked for all worship services and activities. Ensure that the appropriate number of spaces is always reserved for the pastoral family and special guests. Coordinate with the security ministry the entrance and exit strategies for celebrities and others requiring special security. Training is required.

Manage set up and breakdown of sanctuary and meeting facilities for all Community of Hope worship services, Bible Study and activities, including the placement and removal of sanctuary chairs, pulpit chairs and tables, podiums, indoor and outdoor signage and banners; coordinate the transport, set up and removal of furniture, sound equipment and instruments.

Recruit members to Community of Hope by distributing handbills; collaborate with the Outreach team to develop strategies to build the member base; engage in team discussions to refine strategies and discuss innovative ideas that will increase the member base; and sincerely witness to the un-churched, unsaved, and uncommitted by sharing personal testimonies. HAVE FUN!!! Always keep your eyes and ears open for events that the Street Team can work. This team never passes out handbills at other churches or other church events.

Saturday before each 1st Sunday

Serve, prepare and maintain the Sacraments (Communion). Assist and prepare for Adult and Infant Baptisms. Assist the Stewards, Hostess Ministry and other ministries of the church. Visit, pray and serve communion to the sick and shut-in.

Leverage technology to support the ministerial vision of Pastor Lee. This ministry is responsible for the church’s Web sites: www.hiphopenation.com and www.hiphopenetwork.com, blogs, ringtones, podcasts, MP3s, Text of Hope mobile affirmation, CD/DVD duplication and dissemination, television and video production, sound, and audio-visual presentations.

2nd Tuesday of each month
6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Ensure that every visitor receives a follow up communiqué (touch) in the form of a phone calls and/or a letter welcoming them to the church when they in or a letter thanking them for visiting Community of Hope. The ministry is also responsible for entering new member and visitor data into the church database and for supplying addresses for the Tithes and Offering envelopes. Members of this ministry must be comfortable working with a Web-based system. Confidentiality is critical.

Guided by Matthew 19:6, The Unions of Hope serves to enrich the covenant vow of marriage before God. Married and engaged couples are invited to participate in fellowship activities and Heart-2-Heart candid conversations at 12pm on the third Saturday of every month.

Provide diverse music ministry during all worship services and other designated activities. Members of this ministry should be comfortable singing all genres of Gospel music. This ministry incorporates all genres of music into the worship experience.
